Newman SHS sculptural installation
Newman Senior High School in W.A.’s Pilbara region was the site of the latest sculptural commission from Zen Ironwork.
The commission incorporated two screen elements and a split seating artwork that could comfortably seat 24 students.
The screens are made from aluminium, while the seating is fabricated from steel, with a custom rust patina. The seating also has the ability to be moved and reconfigured making it dynamic. Wheels underneath the seats are extended with pneumatic power lifting the seat clear and allowing it to roll.
The seat tops are made from a recycled plastic which is graffiti resistant and UV stable.
